Grants & Investigator Support
Spark Therapeutics reviews—and may fund—independent educational grants to educate healthcare professionals and patients. Spark Therapeutics also supports research that advances medical and scientific knowledge in the company’s therapies and fields of interest. Grants and support are subject to review and approval.
Spark Therapeutics will consider funding requests for the disease states we investigate. To learn more, please see our development pipeline.
Independent Medical Education
Spark Therapeutics is proud to support grants for Independent Medical Education (IME) in an effort to advance medicine and healthcare by improving knowledge of the medical community.
IME is generally defined as education for healthcare professionals (HCPs) delivered by an independent educational provider, such as a community hospital, academic center, society/association, medical education, or communication company.
In 2019, Spark Therapeutics established a program for competitive research grants that supports basic, translational, clinical and epidemiological research into the pathogenesis, complications, clinical outcomes & epidemiology of genetic diseases.
Spark Therapeutics may support Investigator Initiated Research (IIR) or Investigator Initiated Trials (IITs) through a grant for financial support. Additional consideration will be given to submissions that include a primary research objective of potentially addressing an unmet medical need. Spark does not provide operational support for IIR/IITs.
